A small door leading north and south are the only entrances to the building. In the bottom of the staircase, attached to the facade and the challenges of the wall that formerly surrounded the cathedral, is the gate built 1392-1410 by Dominique Florence in a less sober style. At the top of the flamboyant Gothic porch steps ordained by Bishop Ludwig I of Amboise in 1535.
External dealings inside sober and robust contracts with its polychrome. The paintings in perfect condition we convey the anguish of man, the genius of creation and God's strength. The very size of the ship only serves to increase these feelings in viewers.
The dome was decorated by Italian painters between 1509 and 1512, representing Saints and Holy surrounding a “in majesta” Christ. On the altar a large fresco representing the Last Judgment, as I recall the Heretics of punishment that awaits them.
